Looking back on 2008

Isn't it funny how we don't really realize how much we do in a single year until we look back?
2008 was especially epic for us.
Jan- I took swimming lessons for the first time since I was 5 years old to conquer my fear of water.
Feb- Had a killer stagette in Banff with a group of girlfriends- the night included a 5 course meal, champagne, a few surprises, some games, a lot of male attention and some vomiting (not by me though thank goodness).
March - We got married and spent a month in Thailand. I nearly missed my wedding as we nearly got snowed in at the Fort Chipewyan airport the day before I left for Thailand. The joke at work was that I was going to have to teleconference into my wedding.
April - Came home from Thailand to find out my Grandmother had passed away a few days before the wedding.
May-Took up quilting.
June - Got double knee surgery and bought a house. We also did minor renovations and painted said house.
July - Family wedding celebrations more renovations on the house.
August - Cirque to Soleil and a couple of trips to Fort Chipewyan for work
September - Bought my first spinning wheel
October - Went to Santa Barbara, California for the first time for another wedding celebration (we have 3 families - hence all the parties). Did my first wine tasting in California (well my first 5 since they were all in one day). Started a yoga teacher training.
November - Took up Mosaic (cuz I needed another hobby). Went on the knitting retreat through Make One Yarn Studio at the Kananaskis Delta where I taught my biggest yoga classes to date (with the likes of the Yarn Harlot as students - no pressure or anything...)
December-Got some down time to take it all in and celebrate Christmas!
I definitely got my creative streak on this year and branched out to making paintings, earrings, spinning, mosaics and quilts. This definitely coincided with getting my own studio space in our new house!
